What can a workplace with strong team culture achieve when it puts its energy into helping others? Michelin Australia’s national team recently turned a staff activity into important support for people experiencing homelessness, cooking 210 meals for clients of Anchor Community Care.
As part of a three-day national conference, 130 staff members donned aprons and took part in a high-energy cooking challenge, guided by the experts at XL Events. With chopping, slicing, dicing and gas burners in full swing, teams worked together to prepare meals for people in our community who need support.

Turning a team activity into community impact
Michelin Australia’s commitment to corporate social responsibility was evident in the team’s enthusiasm and the practical contribution they made on the day.
The 210 meals will help Anchor support people experiencing homelessness and hardship across our services, including:
- People sleeping rough: Providing meals for people who may have limited access to regular, nutritious food.
- Young people building independence: Helping young people in Anchor’s youth services access nutritious dinners while they work towards their education and early career goals.
- Families experiencing crisis: Supporting families staying in crisis accommodation, including motels and rooming houses.
Michelin Australia’s staff activity is a great example of how businesses can use their time, teamwork and resources to make a meaningful contribution to the community.
How can your workplace make a difference?
Businesses and workplaces can make a big impact in the lives of people experiencing homelessness, children and young people, and families in our community. Whether through a staff activity, a practical donation or another form of collaboration, there are opportunities to turn workplace goodwill into meaningful community support.
Anchor Community Care works with businesses and organisations that want to make a difference.
