What We Do
MyLife is Anchor’s approach to creating pathways to independence.
Creating Pathways to Independence
Every year, around 46,000 young people in Australia will be removed from their family and place in out-of-home care(foster care, kinship care, residential care) to escape harm, abuse and neglect.
Anchor’s MyLife project builds hope and a future for young people with a residential care experience, providing a vital pathway to adulthood and independence.
MyLife Project
MyLife Project equips young people to build their self-worth. It invests in uncovering their unique strengths, interests and goals.
MyLife Project
The transition from adolescence to adulthood is a pivotal stage in life, shaping a person’s psychological, emotional, and social development. For young people transitioning from residential care, this journey can be even more challenging, as they often lack the family support that others can rely on.
Without the right guidance, navigating this crucial period can feel overwhelming and, for many, unattainable—leading to long-term negative outcomes.
The MyLife Project offers a lifeline. As an integrated support model, it provides hope and a clear pathway for young people aged 16-18 with a residential care experience. Our program equips them with the tools they need to safely transition to independent living. Through MyLife, these young people learn how to take control of their lives, develop a sense of agency, and foster a positive self-identity—something that may have been absent from their experiences.
MyLife helps them build the confidence and skills necessary to shape a brighter, more independent future.
“If I wasn’t living with them at the time, I probably wouldn’t have gone to TAFE straight away… It pushed me to go through education, start living by myself, having the opportunity to budget, to meal prep, to run my own life.”

Our Vision for MyLife
MyLife is life-saving.
Help us reach more young people.
Anchor walks alongside young people to a future structured around wellbeing.
We want to empower them to identify their own skills to achieve wellbeing, with quick recovery techniques for the hard times, to cope with all of life’s ups and downs. We want them to leave us with the scaffold of support that they deserve. We don’t want to meet them again, except to hear of their success.
If you or your business want to learn more about MyLife and how you can get involved in transforming young lives, contact us below and we’ll be in touch.
