Anchor Board Member, Jacinta Brouwer has announced her resignation from the Anchor Board of Directors following the 2025 AGM.

Since joining the Board in October, 2023, Ms Brouwer has made an enormous impact at Anchor, bringing energy, passion and expertise during a busy time of evolution and growth at Anchor.

Anchor celebrates Jacinta for her role at Anchor’s Youth Homelessness Summit in 2024, where she opened proceedings with a brave personal reflection on the need to address the youth homelessness crisis in Australia.

In April 2025, Jacinta took her dedication to addressing youth homelessness to new heights as she tackled the 100km Buffalo Stampede, running 100km and raising over $38,000 for Anchor’s youth homelessness services.

“When it got tough—and it really did—what kept me going was the reason behind the run. Every step reminded me that young people experiencing homelessness don’t get to tap out when things get hard. I had the privilege of choosing this challenge; they don’t. That perspective kept me grounded.”

Anchor CEO, Heidi Tucker, said Ms Brouwer had helped Anchor to engage with new people and broaden its capabilities.

“Jacinta has made an outstanding contribution to Anchor during the past two years, acting firstly as Secretary then as Vice Chair of our Board.

“Whilst we’re sad to see her depart, we are grateful for Jacinta’s hard work and professionalism. Her energy and drive for creating change are incredible. She truly is a change maker, and we wish her the best for her future endeavours,” Ms Tucker said.
