Wear it Purple Day is about visibility, celebration, and creating safe spaces for LGBTQIA+ young people.
At the Lilydale Youth Foyer, inclusion and acceptance are at the heart of our community. We came together in style to show our support—dressed in a lot of purple and ready to celebrate!
Team members joined young residents for plenty of fun and connection. Staff brought their brightest purple attire and were loving their new “You’re Safe to Be Around Me” pins and laptop stickers.
To match the theme, everyone shared delicious plates of purple-themed treats, while our incredible young residents took charge of preparing a wonderful afternoon tea.
The festivities carried on with games like Queer Bingo and Trans Celebrity Head, shining a spotlight on the contributions and impact of stars in the Australian LGBTQIA+ community. The energy only grew as the day wound down with karaoke—where both young people and staff gave it their all in a joyful celebration of identity and self-expression.
Wear it Purple Day at the Lilydale Youth Foyer was a reminder that every young person deserves to feel proud, supported, and safe to be themselves.
