The Rotary Club of Lilydale’s Christmas Wishing Tree campaign has grown into an amazing outpouring of community generosity, with 41 businesses and organisations taking part in the toy and gift drive last Christmas.

On Tuesday, 25 February, the Rotary Club hosted their annual thank you dinner for all of the businesses that had participated.

The event was also an opportunity for Anchor to thank all of the people who had made last year’s campaign such a huge success, ensuring that every child across our homelessness services had an age-appropriate gift.

Anchor CEO, Heidi Tucker said on the night that it has been incredible to see the campaign grow into such a great celebration of community compassion and generosity.

“The presents you donated tell the children and the families that they are important to the community. That they are included. That the people they walk past in the street care about them – even if they never meet them, even if they never know who the presents came from.”
