The Anchor MyLife Project has been growing steadily over the last couple of years, supporting a growing number of young people with an experience of state care to exit residential care with independence, confidence and a strong sense of self-worth.
Our three sites in Melbourne’s East, South, and Gippsland area recently came together to bond and share some of the amazing team culture that makes the project so great at connecting with young people.
Everyone had to bring a plate, so it was an opportunity to ‘break bread’ & connect in person. Being that the project has grown so quickly, there were also a few introductions to be made.
The group have had a very busy year in 2024, and things are set to continue in the coming year as they look to engage young people on their pathway out of state care.
Our recently released Impact Report shows how important their engagement and mentoring can be for young vulnerable people.
The team’s ability to support the young people to improve on areas such as life satisfaction, gratitude and hope are all crucial indicators of their overall mental and emotional health, and provide a strong foundation for going on to thrive in education, employment, accommodation and self-care.
These results are a credit to the MyLife team’s commitment to working together to be outstanding mentors and supports for the young people they support.
