Anchor Community Care is thrilled to welcome new Directors Mark Sayer and Steve Peterson to our Board. They joined Anchor at the February Board meeting where their positions were made official.
Both Mark and Steve bring a wealth of knowledge and experience and help to broaden the skills and experience that drives our Board’s decision making and leadership.
Mr Sayer said he was excited to join the Anchor board as it is his first director position.
“It’s a really great opportunity to leverage my experience and knowledge to make a difference.
“Anchor’s mission really resonates with me. I want to dedicate my time to intervene in cycles of homelessness that too many young people experience in Australia.
“Coming from an IT background, I’m eager to help inform the organisation’s approach to technology. I want to help influence Anchor’s strategic approach to using technology to improve client outcomes and improve the way the organisation works.”
Mr Peterson has over 25 years of experience in the Not-for-profit sector and nine years serving on the Board of WAYSS, including three as Board chair.
Mr Peterson describes his new appointment as an opportunity to apply his knowledge and experience to further Anchor’s strategic goals.
“Homelessness is just about the biggest crisis there is in Australia. I have a lot of passion for social justice and disrupting the concept of disadvantage.
“I have two young boys, and I’m reminded daily of how fortunate we are – but also how much we have to work to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to thrive in Australia.”
