CEO Heidi Tucker journeyed to Canberra recently as a part of a coalition of support calling for more funding for youth Foyers.
During the trip, Heidi and a key group of homelessness sector representatives, along with the Foyer Foundation, met with Federal politicians and advisors to advocate the need for more Foyer sites to be funded.
With the Federal Budget coming up in May, the trip is hoped to have bolstered the Foyer Foundations calls for 10 additional Foyers to be funded across the country in the short term. The Foyer Foundation drew a lot of media coverage with online and radio news pieces all telling the story of Foyer’s success in disrupting youth homelessness, and paitning a clear picture of the need for further investment.
