Anchor families have received an extraordinary show of generosity over the course of 2025 — 600 donated food and fruit boxes, equating to an incredible 4.2 tonnes of fresh, healthy food delivered to families and young people experiencing homelessness.
While these food boxes are donated each month by a local Yarra Ranges family, the Christmas delivery carries an extra sense of magic. It arrives at a time when pressure on household budgets is high and the need for reliable, nutritious food is even greater.
Adding to the warmth of this year’s delivery, the boxes were lovingly decorated by students from Mount Evelyn Primary School, filling each one with colour, kindness and a visible reminder that the wider community cares.
This remarkable effort would not be possible without the long-term generosity of Ron and Sallie, whose commitment has ensured this support continues month after month. We also extend our sincere thanks to Carter Bros. Fruit & Veg. Silvan, who expertly fill and deliver each box, helping turn generosity into practical, reliable support for Anchor families.
4.2 tonnes of fresh food is no small contribution. It means full cupboards, healthier meals, and a sense of relief for families and young people navigating the uncertainty of homelessness. It represents dignity, stability and care — delivered consistently and with compassion.
The scale of this donation, and the collaboration behind it, is a powerful reminder of what’s possible when community members, local businesses and schools come together. We are incredibly proud — and deeply grateful — to be surrounded by such strong community spirit.
